Certified dog behavior consultant in Los Angeles and Bakersfield

Hi, I’m Krista.

I became a dog trainer because I couldn’t find the right one for my own dog. That was over 20 years ago, and I still love this work.

  • Problem behaviorsmy focus in training school
  • Rescue rootsmy first dog was a rescue

My story

I grew up in Phoenix with a pretty big menagerie of animals at home. I was a horse girl and rode competitively all through growing up, and I always wanted to understand animals on a deeper level.

I rescued my first dog in college, in a one bedroom apartment, and I spent hours with her at the dog park just watching her and all the other dogs interact.

Then I adopted a second dog who started showing problem behaviors young. Every trainer I called was either one size fits all or way out of my budget, so I did the next best thing and went to school to become a trainer myself. Goodsittdogs was born to help people in exactly the spot I was in.

My job is to help you have the relationship with your dog that you imagined when you decided to share your life with one.

“Nothing brings me more happiness than seeing my clients finally click with their dogs and start having a relationship and behavior they never thought imaginable.”

It can be done!

Meet my pack

My two dogs go just about everywhere with me. On my days off you’ll find the three of us outdoors, rock climbing, white water kayaking or out on a backcountry hike.

Someday I’d love to take clients out there too, so you and your dog can build some confidence in the wilderness together.

Patience, Leadership, and Love.

Certified, and still learning

I earned my behavior consultant certification through the CCPDT, the most recognized certification council for pet dog trainers, and became one of only about 300 people to hold it.

How I train

There isn’t one method that works for every dog, or every human. We all learn differently and at our own pace.

No one size fits all

Your plan fits your dog and your daily routine, because otherwise training ends in frustration and wasted time and money.

Always learning

I keep going to workshops and seminars in my free time, so I can keep coming up with plans that actually work for each client.

I’d love to meet your dog.

Every plan starts with a phone or in person consultation.
